Exhausted yet still pumped with adrenalin from battling the blaze, our hero returns from his first major call. After being a bit shaken from the chaotic ordeal of entering the inferno, he finds balance in knowing his actions saved lives.

For this commissioned piece I was only given minimal guidelines: a hot fireman. The rest was up to me. I started with the simple idea of showing off his hunky physique, with the setting of having just returned from a fire, partly shedding his uniform. The right expression was a challenge as I wanted him to look tired but not beaten down; proud of his performance, but not cocky either.
