Every hot afternoon, he takes a break from working on the summer cottage. He swaggers across the stream of vacation traffic to the townýs ice cream shop. He doesn't quite know which flavor he'll get, but he knows he will be greeted by a big grin from the young guy behind the counter. And for a few moments, they each get to indulge in A Summer Treat.

With the last few days being so hot and muggy, there's really no need to explain my inspiration for this piece. I'm just glad I got to work on it indoors with the ac running.

The ice cream stand looks like the one by the long pier in Ptown. Love the smile on the handsome kid serving up the vanilla cone. Is he just flirting with the stud-customer, or is there a connection between them? Perhaps they'll meet at A-House, Backstreets ... or Boatslip beach! To the BOYS of summer

Oh, it's always a pleasure to share a big smile. A little flirting never hurts, and makes everyone feel great. We all like to be recognized. Of course, we are always thinking about the possibility of further flirts, and friendships.

I love summer and I love bright colors. This piece has it all, plus some great flesh tones shining in the light. And, I might add, you bravely rendered some hands!

I really enjoy this picture. It is whimsical, playful, erotic and slightly transgressive. My love of soft serve ice cream and hot guys aside, the artwork goes beyond the obvious innuendo of the ice cream cone. The positioning of the patron with his shirt hanging evokes the hanky code and the money casually held certainly suggests exchange ("I've got something you'll really like"), a pairing (two dollars) and has a very subtle implication of rent boys or rough trade, which brings a transgressive dimension that makes this picture even hotter than the summer heat that brought our patron to the stand.

The young server's heartbeat raced, warming his cool hand. Ice cream begins to ooze across his long fingers while he stares motionless at his customer's sculpted torso glistening in the strong sunlight from above. He feels the cone being gently lifted from his grasp. Hands touch. The suitor's steel blue eyes reach deep into his soul. Pulses sizzle like the summer day. The server laughs to himself nervously, completely unaware of what his customer was about to do...

"You gonna just stand there or do I get to lick that before you have sticky stuff all over your hands?" Michael, I liked Michael D. and Byron B's. comments above...there is really alot there. It is another great piece...like so many of your works Michael it is fun and provocative. And it does bring back childhood memories of softserve ice cream at 'The Keg' (barrell shaped) drive-in in my western Minnesota hometown. Thanks!

This piece sums up everything I love about summer: Hot shirtless guys, endless sun and ice cream. It's sweet and sexy but not vulgar. Great work!

A Summer Treat, would fit well into this years show "Under the Sun." It's a hot day, I assume the boy in the ice cream truck is a young gay, possibly a virgin, beause one of the screen shots of the piece focuses on the cherry. I imagine he's hard all day watching these sexy shirtless men. Then when this guy comes to buy some ice cream, he flirts with the younger gay, who melts, and fumbles his way around the truck to fill the order and hoping he gets filled , too.

I love the dichotomy that this piece invokes. It is hot outside and this customer is hot, hot, hot-- but the items for sale in this shop are ice cold. I think the only thing melting in this ice-cream shop is the clerk's heart once he gets a glimpse of his customer. Not unlike the treats found in this ice-cream shop, this muscular dude is cool, sweet and very tasty.

I read the vendor as older than some other commenters, quite possibly older than the poser. And I like THAT dynamic.

Vendor boy knows that stud boy comes by at about the same time every day. Stud boy approaches with a friendly smile of his own, his huge cock plainly raging in his jeans, and his nipples hard as pencil erasers mounted on meaty, rock hard pecs. Vendor boy knows very well how much stud boy wants to strip him naked and pound his bubble butt. Maybe tonight?
