pastel artist of the male figure, nudes and gay themes
Original pastel paintings of the male nude and gay themes by artist Michael Breyette. Michael’s art isn’t just homoerotic but tells stories and conveys emotions of gay life and varies from whimsical, fantasy to even the mundane of day to day living.
18½" x 23" (47 cm x 58 cm) pastel on pastel paper
Ten years ago I did my first full frontal self-portrait, Naked. I remember feeling anxious about putting it all out there. But at the same time I found it liberating, not to mention a boost to my self-confidence. And while I have since posed for certain parts of my figures, and I was the model for the Restraint series, I hadn't since done a full frontal nude self portrait. But then a friend suggested I do a 10th anniversary piece, and I of course started feeling anxious. But here I am, once again putting it all out there, with my Selfie.
Welcome to the art of Michael Breyette.
Michael's pastel paintings capture the stunning beauty of the male form with warmth and sensitivity while never shying away from lustful eroticism.
