After the Game (2003)
22×30 Pastel on Illustration Board
Original is Sold

I really enjoy working on pieces with a common theme, and I consider After the Game to be a locker room companion to my previous artwork, Gym. A locker room is a fascinating setting because it is a space where men are naturally uncovered, but it also carries a deeper social significance. For many guys, it is the very first place where they ever see another man completely in the flesh rather than in a magazine or a movie. This piece captures that raw, post-match energy where the real fun begins. I focused heavily on rendering the glistening texture of the skin and the clean lines of the lockers to ground the figures in a relatable, nostalgic memory.
