Why should women have all the fun when it comes to pampering and self-expression? There is a quiet confidence in a man who defines masculinity on his own terms, stepping outside of society's rigid boxes to embrace a softer, more playful side. Painting Beau allowed me to explore that exact dynamic. He holds your gaze, completely unapologetic and entirely at ease as he carefully brushes a stroke of blue polish onto his toenails. This piece is part of a new three-part series, Natural Beauties, exploring men indulging in traditionally feminine rituals behind closed doors. Capturing the intense focus on his face while rendering the perspective of his hands and foot right up close in the foreground proved to be a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience.
