Drenched (2005)
23×18½ Pastel on Pastel Paper
Original is Sold

Continuing their tour of famous cities, the young couple in Drenched has made their way to San Francisco. After pulling over to take in the view of the Golden Gate Bridge, they are overcome with a passion so intense that not even a sudden rain shower can interrupt their steamy embrace. This piece brings together several of my favorite themes. First, I love doing series. I like to create a narrative with my art, and by doing a series, the story gets to continue from one work to the next. Originally, the weather was not a major component of this piece. However, I really enjoy making things look moist. Finally, I like incorporating the real world into my art. One way I do that is to use famous settings as the backdrops to my creations.
