I’ve always believed that the best art tells a story, and Homecoming is about the heavy, breathtaking relief of a long-awaited return. I wanted to capture the raw passion and vulnerability of two lovers finally reunited after the separation of war. This was one of those rare, effortless pieces where the pastel just seemed to find its own way onto the canvas. It was a joy to paint, entirely free of struggle, much like the peace of finally coming home.
