You know that feeling when you just want a little somethin’, but you aren't exactly sure what? You simply need to find the right thing to pop in your mouth to satisfy that craving.

Many years ago, I painted a piece titled Midnight Snack, and it has been on my mind for a while to revisit that playful motif. With Late Night Snack, I wanted to capture that quiet, intimate, and slightly voyeuristic moment of standing completely naked in the dark at 2 AM, hunting for the perfect bite.

Technically, this piece was a fantastic exercise in dramatic, high-contrast lighting. The pitch-black surroundings strip away all other room details, forcing the entire composition to rely on the cool, bright glow spilling out from the open refrigerator. I focused heavily on how that harsh, single light source rakes across his skin, casting deep shadows that sharply define the strong contours of his chest, abs, and leaning arm. The colorful, everyday details inside the fridge—mustard, pickles, and wine—provide a fun, grounded backdrop that perfectly balances the sensual, fully revealed presentation of his physique.
