One final glance over your shoulder at the city of sin, reliving those last few days of overindulgence before heading back home to a life that before now never seemed so ordinary; that is the exact feeling I wanted to capture in Leaving Las Vegas.
When I visited the legendary city for the first time earlier this year, I was not sure I would ever want to go back. The people, the flashing lights, the "sin city" atmosphere... it can only be described as overwhelming and over the top. But after looking through some of my photographic memories, I found myself thinking that a return trip might not be so bad. The beauty of the surrounding landscape was something I definitely had not expected. I just need to keep in mind that there is more to Vegas than its nighttime sensory assault. And just because I may be ready to escape after a few days, it does not mean I will never return.
