Midnight Mischief
from $85.00

Sounds of scratching, snickering, and scurrying stir you from sleep. Is it just neighborhood kids trying to keep the Halloween shenanigans going late into the night? You reach for the light, but the power is out. More peculiar noises echo. That definitely came from downstairs! You grab your LED lantern and cautiously creep down the steps to find a scene of true Midnight Mischief.

All along, the idea was to paint a frightened figure heading downstairs to check out the commotion. I played around with several ideas of what spooky or terrifying monster might be lurking, but in the end, I was in a playful mood. I used a childhood movie classic, Gremlins, as the inspiration for my mischievous creatures. Oh, and yes, I did pose as the model for the figure. The frightened one, not the furry ones!
