Poster Boy

Poster Boy (2010)

Equality for all! It is a straightforward concept, yet one that faces constant social and political resistance.

With Poster Boy, I drew upon the intense energy of civil rights movements to create a striking visual call-to-action. Mirroring the authoritative stance of the iconic Uncle Sam "I want you" poster, this piece reclaims that historic sense of civic urgency for the LGBTQ+ community. Standing proudly at a rally in Washington, D.C., with the Washington Monument and rainbow flags behind him, a handsome, shirtless activist holds a sign demanding "Equality." His powerful, sculpted physique and determined expression serve as a bold statement of visibility and strength, turning a message of basic human rights into an unforgettable, patriotic symbol.
