Throughout our lives, when faced with turbulent waters, most of us follow the rocky shore until we find that bridge that carries us to a better place on the other side. It is a sad and strange irony that in moments of deep hopelessness, some do not seek a metaphorical path forward, but rather a physical bridge to leap from as a means of giving up.

Driven by a poignant response to media coverage regarding bullying and the high rate of suicides among LGBTQ+ youth, I felt compelled to create a piece that places the viewer directly into that critical, heavy moment without romanticizing the act.
