Being subtle and shy can lead to missed opportunities. While some mistake assertiveness for aggression, often it's beneficial if one party drops the pretense (or the towel) and risks being Bold.

This piece is a new addition to my Mini Figurative series.

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s important that inappropriate behavior is finally facing the spotlight, but there is concern that the pendulum may swing too far. We should be careful not to blur the lines between confident assertiveness and actual aggression.

Working on this piece, I wanted to capture the exact friction of that social commentary. I used high-contrast charcoal and white pastels on our warm ochre backdrop to detail the standing man's chiseled physique as he rests his foot on the bench. Leaning forward, his intense focus contrasts with the seated figure's receptive, upward gaze, capturing the electric tension of a confident advance.
