Whether it’s hanging out having a good time, working out, or when things go south, Bros have each other's backs—and sometimes their fronts.
While I work on my other pieces that are… I guess more elaborate is a good word, I’m letting out some excess creativity with these Mini Figurative vignettes. Working in monochrome pastel, I wanted to focus on the raw, athletic realism of the bond between these two men. This style lets me play with strong values and intense shading, accentuating the standing figure's chiseled abdominal muscles and the soft fabric of the gym towel draped around his neck. By rendering the figures in crisp grayscale against a warm, solid ochre backdrop, the composition frames a deeply personal, post-workout moment of intimate trust and connection.
