James likes his sex rough, tough, and dirty. It's no wonder that he's so into leather. He knows his gear has the strength to take the abuse he craves! Do you?
It's no secret that I have a bit of an underwear fetish. I even painted Men in Briefs, an entire series of guys posing in their Underwear. While working on James, the intense attitude of the subject took things in a different direction, and I could definitely see him being the very first entry of a future Guys in Gear series! Working in pastel, my primary creative challenge was rendering the contrasting textures of the scene; the matte, warm quality of his skin against the heavy sheen of the black leather harness and the crumpled pants at his waist. I used a dark, moody palette of earth tones to lock in that underground, industrial basement vibe.
