Light of Day

It is the Light of Day that wakes us as we stretch our stiffened muscles and cast off our shroud of sleep.

I started out with just the orchid, which happens to be one of my ex’s favorite flowers. Other than that, I really had not thought about what else would ultimately find its way onto the canvas. Of course, I knew there would be a handsome guy involved, either completely naked or mostly so. However, the delicate orchid was my true inspiration. I wanted to portray some kind of intimate connection between the flower and the man. To achieve that, I decided on using the morning sun, showing them both stretching to embrace its warmth.
