I created Nudo in Piscina from a camera phone photo my friend Andrea had on his Facebook profile. I cropped out quite a bit to bring the focus right onto his form, and altered the background to clean up the composition. The toughest part of working in pastel on this piece was rendering his face, since enlarging the original image made it very pixelated. I really enjoyed capturing the smooth expanse of his back and shoulders, contrasting his warm skin tones against the cool, refreshing blues of the shimmering water.
