“Oh by golly, it’s always the same,” Saint Nick muttered as he faced the post-shower, what-to-wear question. “At least I can don some gay under apparel to sugar & spice things up, oh by golly!”
While I’ve put Santa in previous paintings as a supporting character, as a hot Daddy playing Santa, and even as a young Nick, I hadn’t really done a “Breyette-ified” version of traditional Santa. You know, white-bearded and mature but also fit and hunky with a nice package! Just because the North Pole is cold doesn’t mean Santa can’t be hot!
Working in pastel, I wanted to capture the ultimate holiday walk-in closet, overflowing with racks of iconic red-and-white suits and rows of black leather boots. I had a lot of fun mixing seasonal charm with cheeky adult humor, highlighting a muscular, silver-bearded St. Nick contemplating his wardrobe while wearing candy cane-patterned Underwear, all under the watchful eye of a tiny elf on the shelf and an "Extra Stuffing" box on the floor.
