We are stronger, gentler, more resilient, and more beautiful than any of us imagine. — Mark Nepo

Meet Quade, a rugged addition to my Mini Figurative series. He stands completely naked with a relaxed yet alert posture. With one hand drawn up into a loose fist and a subtle smirk on his face, he projects a tough but approachable energy. His sharp mohawk and dense beard give him a distinct edge, anchoring his confident, grounded presence.

Working on the piece I spent most of my time focusing on the contrast between the rougher textures of his hair and the smoother planes of his skin. Raising one arm naturally shifts the tension in his bicep and shoulder, which let me map out the muscle structure using the resulting shadows. The directional light catches the crest of his hairstyle and drops straight down his chest, picking up the heavy pattern of his body hair before leading the eye down to a full, unedited view of his form.
