The artwork of Tom of Finland stands among the most iconic gay imagery in history, celebrating an unapologetic, hyper-masculine aesthetic. To explore that legendary energy in my own style, Rough Riders focuses on a couple of brawny biker boys sizing each other up alongside a classic motorcycle. Set against a rustic barn backdrop surrounded by autumn foliage, the tension between these two alpha dogs is palpable. One stands confidently with his arms crossed, shirtless and wearing a leather biker cap, tight denim jeans, and tall black boots. The other leans over the handlebars of the bike, glancing back with an equally assured look while clad in a white tank top, tight jeans, and black leather chaps. Capturing the interplay of strength and confidence between them made this dynamic tribute an absolute thrill to paint.
