The Mechanic has the skills to get your motor running. With his rough hands wrapped around a tool, he’ll take care of you whether it’s a massive overhaul or just tightening a couple of nuts.
My Father Figure series isn't just about celebrating the “Daddy” look. It also depicts those classic male archetypes in our lives that carry an air of practical authority. These are the blue-collar men we admire as role models, who ultimately help shape our perception of masculinity. Rounding out the series, alongside The Boss and The Coach, this piece focuses on the rugged charm of a working man. Working in pastel, I focused on the textures of grease and sweat, contrasting his oil-smudged, chiseled torso and hairy chest with the heavy denim of his unzipped coveralls.
