There is a powerful energy that comes right before a storm, a sense that the elements are shifting and taking over. With Winds of Change, I wanted to capture that electric, atmospheric tension. Standing completely nude in the open yard as a gale sweeps across the plains, he looks out toward the horizon, totally unfazed by the brewing tempest. The wind whips through his hair and sends the laundry on the clothesline flying, signaling a dramatic shift in the weather. I had a lot of fun contrasting his calm, powerful physique with the chaotic motion of nature, from the swirling clouds and bending tree to the distant tornado forming on the horizon. Capturing that precise mood of anticipation required a delicate balance of deep, storm-fueled textures and bright, open sky.
