After 15 years since my last black and white pastel, I guess I had a longing to go back to my roots. I also switched things up, because this a much smaller original than I’m used to. It’s only on 8½ x 11 inch paper.
The original I’ve priced at $650. I am also only offering offering prints in the portfolio (8½” x 11”) size and a limited 25 copies. During the release week both, original and prints, are 10% off.

Just a quick peek at what’s on my drawing board for my next pastel painting.
Perhaps it’s the perspective from a ceiling fan…or maybe he has a fan in the apartment above who drilled a peep hole through the floor? :-)
We rarely see Santa in anything but his red suit. So what’s his closet like? What does he wear underneath? And, oh by golly, if he does wear a jockstrap does it have little candy canes on it?

Diving right into another piece! I noticed how some pieces start off more refined but others, like this one, are more rough and smudgey. I equate it to oil painting and using a palette knife over a fine brush.
