The idea for Anton sparked right after a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, where my mind was completely filled with the idealized beauty of classical Grecian statues. The subject embodies that same sense of chiseled, sensual strength. When working in grayscale, the biggest challenge is ensuring the figure feels warm and alive rather than frozen like stone, especially when the eyes are hidden from view. I relied on creating glistening skin textures, detailed hair, and precise levels of contrast to breathe life into the form.
