As the body lets go and sinks into comforting cotton sheets, the mind is set adrift while the subconscious eyes of a young man meander the pleasurable dreamscape of an afternoon nap, leaving us to wonder what else might be rising to the occasion in his Daydreams.
Coming straight off the creation of Big Sur, which featured a deeply tanned figure against a vibrant blue sea and sky, shifting the color palette for this piece was a dramatic change of pace for me. I actually ended up mixing a lot more color into this piece, playing with all the subtle variations, warm shadows, and intricate highlights that come with rendering natural skin tones.
