Work and weather make getting together a challenge, but something about the intimate warmth the holidays ignite within us makes us strive to move mountains of snow or paperwork in our quest to be together.
Working in pastel, my creative focus was balancing the split environments. I loved contrasting the icy, moonlit blues of the snowy woods and the outdoor Christmas tree visible through the window panes with the deep, rich reds and glowing amber light of the hearth indoors.
