Commission pieces are always incredibly special to work on because they carry so much personal history and meaning for the clients. Creating The Anniversary was a true joy, as it was commissioned to celebrate a wonderful milestone for a client and his husband. I wanted to pack the piece with all the deeply personal details that make up their life together. The setting features their actual brownstone, complete with the specific address plate on the door, and their three beloved cats, one exploring the brownstone steps right behind them, and two more keeping watch from the window. Capturing the genuine warmth between the couple as they share gifts and a bouquet of tulips on their front stoop made this a beautifully intimate project that perfectly honors their journey together.
