Halloween is full of strange traditions, but knocking on doors for candy takes a truly unexpected turn when a real creature of the night answers. Continuing my annual tradition of painting a special holiday piece, Trick-or-Treat flips the script on the unsuspecting visitor at 13 Sleepy Hollow Lane. Standing in the doorway with a wicked, knowing smile, the hunky neighbor reveals a stunning, naked animal physique, not a costume at all, but a living, breathing Satyr complete with curved horns, pointed ears, and powerful, furry goat legs. I couldn’t resist the inspiration for this sexy beast, especially since Halloween fell on a 'Satyr'-day! Playing with the spooky, atmospheric glow of the jack-o'-lantern against the rich textures of his mythical form allowed me to create a piece that is equal parts trick and absolute treat.
