I feel like I've been putting a lot of time into this new piece, but it seems to be slow going. Maybe I'm just anxious to get it done. Or it has so many little different elements, there isn't a big area of sky or mountains that fills up the space, plus there are four figures, each with a fun expression on their faces.
I think because my pieces are often little stories in my head, I have to start with the faces, the characters that will tell the story.
I often describe my work as 'male figurative' and while that's a key component, the word 'figurative,' for me evokes a presentation of the male body in an anatomical and studious way rather than a presentation of men, men with emotions and desires and experiences of life.
Early to Rise, Bump In the Night, Snow Day, Jock Blanc, Jock Rouge
As the inventory of a limited edition run of a print dwindles the price increases. The limited edition studio size (13"x19" / 33x48mm) prints of these works only have 1 or 2 copies left before their prices get bumped up to the next tier.
For prints that are already in a low quantity tier see Low Stock Giclée Prints
I don't know about you, but those mornings when I don't have to get up are a favorite time of the entire week. It's also extra nice if you get to just hang out in bed with a play mate (furry or not).

I'd say about 98% of my pieces have faces. Facial expressions capture focus set the tone of the painting. It's also where I begin my pieces. The face is usually so crucial since it's where I can best ensure to evoke the emotions I want. So when I approach a piece that has no facial expressions the other elements and body language have to carry that burden. It also pushes me to add interest to some of those elements, as in the case of these white briefs. Making them slightly pulled down and slightly translucent adds, to borrow a cooking term, 'depth of flavor'.
It always seems too early but never is by the time I get it all together and off to the printer.
Welcome to the art of Michael Breyette.
Michael's pastel paintings capture the stunning beauty of the male form with warmth and sensitivity while never shying away from lustful eroticism.
