I've added a few more pieces to the Clearance Closet. These are pieces that I have hung in my home or perhaps at show and may have slight imperfections that I am offering at a reduced price.
I've got six ideas on the drawing board. Which one would you pick for me to paint next?
Read MoreThis month I'm featuring "Melt".
Since "Melt" was motivated by climate change and the melting icecaps, and this past winter has been quite warm without much snow (in my home state of Vermont anyway), it seemed like a logical pick. It's also March and that means the first day of Spring and the big thaw is just around the corner.
I'm not doing a contest this time, just a 15% off of "Melt" prints this month when you use the code MARCHMELT.
I may bring the contest back if I can figure out a better way to run it. Right now too many people are not providing their email address so I have no contact information and therefore are excluded from the contest.
Every once in a while I get contacted by organizations having auctions and benefits looking for donations. I have to admit I've been rather neglectful lately in participating. While I can't donate to every event I want to do better in 2016. Therefore I've donated a framed gallery print to PERSAD's Art For Change auction. PERSAD is the nation’s second oldest licensed mental health center specifically created to serve the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community of Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania. If you're in that area I hope you'll check it out and support the cause.

It hasn't been much of a snowy winter up in my neck of the woods, but we've had plenty of dreary gray days...and I don't have a problem with that at all.
This painting evolved into a third piece in what I guess I'll now call my 'day series'. It echoes the pose of my other works "Snow Day" and "Beach Day".
The original and limited edition prints are available at the special new release price (until about 8:00 am EST March 1).
Original is available for purchase

Who knew you could get celebrity head from China...
Read MoreWith all the paintings I've done, I've concluded that there are certain things I ALWAYS enjoy working on, like beards and butts, and certain things I will never enjoy like hands. Early on, there were things I didn't like painting because they were difficult for me. But over time I got better and they were no longer a challenge. Some of those things I now enjoy, but others, while no longer as challenging still feel tedious to me. I guess things like beards and butts engage me on some deeper level ;-)
Sometimes I have ideas that I discard or talk myself out of because I think it's too similar to something I've done in the past. But other times I'm encouraged to do a new take on it, to connect with the past while evolving the 'storyline'. This one is my next chapter in my 'Day' series...I guess I can call it a series now that this will be the 3rd one.
Sometimes hanging out at a museum, surrounded by other works of art can inspire ones own creativity. Or perhaps you just need to look to your right to find your muse.
During the official Release Week get 10% off the regular price of the original and prints of "Muse", now until approximately 8:00 AM EST February 10th.

Welcome to the art of Michael Breyette.
Michael's pastel paintings capture the stunning beauty of the male form with warmth and sensitivity while never shying away from lustful eroticism.
This website contains fine art depictions of male nudity, gay themes, and men in sensual and romantic situations. Do not enter if you choose to be offended by this subject matter.
Otherwise, if you appreciate the male form in all its glory, come on inside and enjoy!
If you have all the art you need but want to help, a kindly contribution can be made here:
